Ranitomeya are a smaller genus of dart frog commonly referred to as ‘Thumbnails’. They have been very rewarding for us to keep, and we are sure you will feel the same. Active during the daytime, you may be able to hear the faint call or trill of the males looking to court a female. They do well in groups, if given enough space. We keep trios in 18 × 18 × 18 bio-active terrariums.

Ranitomeya Variabilis “Southern” has been an absolute gem of a frog to work with! Their emerald green bodies, individually specific black dots, and blue legs are fun to watch as they confidently dart around their enclosures. Great in groups and a very hardy species for a first time keeper.
