Ranitomeya are a smaller genus of dart frog commonly referred to as ‘Thumbnails’. They have been very rewarding for us to keep, and we are sure you will feel the same. Active during the daytime, you may be able to hear the faint call or trill of the males looking to court a female. They do well in groups, if given enough space. We keep trios in 18 × 18 × 18 bio-active terrariums.

Ranitomeya Vanzolini is a bold, beautiful, polka dotted dart frog. They tend to be more terrestrial, not requiring much vertical space. We find them to be quite entertaining, adventurous, and a hardy species for us to keep.

Dart frogs require high humidity 80+%, and thrive in a bio-active enclosure.

They feed on flightless fruit flies that should be dusted with a calcium supplement.

These frogs are not poisonous due to their diet in captivity.
